Our 1st Annual Raleigh LUNGe Forward 5k Walk, Run and Rally!

On Sunday, September 29, 2019, Nelson Wealth Advisors is proudly sponsoring FAMILY TIES, a 1st year team participating in the 2019 Raleigh LUNGe Forward 5K Run, Walk & Rally, benefiting the Lung Cancer Initiative of North Carolina. Please help support our team in this important project by contributing to this great cause.

Why we walk, run and rally? We walk, run and rally, to raise money for the Lung Cancer Initiative of NC and the many services they provide to those effected by lung cancer in NC, each and every year.

Why FAMILY TIES? Our team’s co-captains, Ken Nelson, Lisa Smith and Ryan Kurtz, have been deeply effected by lung cancer within the past 2 years.

Ken lost his dad, Vincent Nelson, to stage 4 lung cancer in May 2017. Not a day goes by that he is not deeply missed by family, friends and the many lives he touched. His kind, generous heart and infectious laugh will forever remain in our hearts & memories. Lisa & Ryan’s mom, Cheryl Kurtz, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in November of 2018. She continues her brave, courageous fight every single day.

FAMILY TIES is walking in memory of Vince and in honor of Cheryl.

How can you help? There are a couple of ways you can help support our team. Please consider joining our team for the 2019 5k event on Sunday, September 29th, 2019, at Midtown Park in Raleigh NC! Since this is our 1st year, we need participants to help build our team! If you’re not available to join us this year, please consider making an online donation. Whatever you can give will help; it all adds up! We greatly appreciate your support!

The mission of the Lung Cancer Initiative is to save lives and provide support to those affected by lung cancer through research, awareness, education and access programs across North Carolina.
