Ken has worked in the financial industry for 35 years. Before co-founding Nelson Wealth Advisors, he was a Financial Advisor with Wachovia Securities, Morgan Keegan & Company, and Sterne Agee Financial Services. He received his BS from Tufts University in Engineering and his MBA from Duke University. He has helped teach graduate students in the MBA program at Duke's Fuqua School of Business and has served as President of the Duke Alumni Club of the Triangle.
Ken provides analysis, support, and financial advice to public and private companies in order to help them meet their corporate financial needs. This includes consultation and monitoring 401-K plans, defined benefit plans, ESOPs, 529s, discounted stock purchase plans, deferred compensation plans, cash management services, and resources to assist in comprehensive corporate and executive services including public and private financing. He also offers guidance to the senior executives of these firms by helping them with restricted stock transactions, single-stock risk management strategies, executive stock options, professional money management, portfolio optimization, and specialized financial and estate planning.
Ken obtained his AIFA (Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst) in 2021. An AIFA can audit Fiduciaries and determine whether they meet CEFEX Fiduciary certification.
